Nancy McDonald
(29th June 1946 to 29th May 2018)
Nancy was a teacher, a wonderful teacher, and she left an important lesson for us – for all of us to follow her star. That will be her legacy.
Nancy had a life-changing impact on so many of her students and others in the community. The power of this impact has been too enormous simply to ignore, and it’s inspiration has led a group of us to create a special foundation to perpetuate her work, called NANCY’S WAY, Foundation for Future Generations.
This Foundation has been set up as a donor advised fund at Canada Gives. It’s mission is to expand on Nancy’s leadership in preparing young people for their life in Canada, a role that is entrusted to teachers across the country. We don’t have to research what to do; we know what to do, thanks to Nancy’s example.
Nancy and I were together for sixty years, and I now want to follow her lead. We will continue to identify needs as they arise and transform the lives of a new generation of students as they step out to face the world. That was, and still will be, NANCY’S WAY .

Working Together with Canada Gives & the Not for Profit Sector
The NANCY’S WAY, Foundation for Future Generations is a non-profit family foundation within the registered charity and public foundation, Canada Gives. NANCY’S WAY, Foundation for Future Generations makes all of the funding choices and selects charities and the programs they wish to support, while Canada Gives provides the administration, governance and oversight for NANCY’S WAY.
By working together with Canada Gives, NANCY’S WAY can focus its time and energy on charities and their programs that fit our funding interests. NANCY’S WAY, Foundation for Future Generations is also listed in Imagine Canada’s Grant Connect, an on-line directory of foundation.
